We’re thrilled to announce the new issue of the Goodnewspaper: The Disability Edition! This issue is extra special, not just because it’s the first disability-themed issue we’ve ever made, but it was also guest-edited by disability activist (and one of our favorite Helpers!), Daphne Frias.

As Daphne shares in her opening letter, the words “good” and “disability” do not often get paired together. But the more we can highlight stories that show that these two words are not mutually exclusive, the further we will go in elevating the idea of disability as a whole.

And that’s exactly what this issue was created to do. In it, you’ll read about epic stories like:

💪 A gym in Kansas City that helps its disabled members build meaningful connections with their bodies

🎸 How Coldplay facilitates a truly inclusive concert experience with intentional accommodations

🧠 Increased awareness around neurodivergence helping folks be their true, full selves at work, in life, and beyond

✈️ People and organizations facilitating safe, inclusive, dignified travel experiences for disabled folks

💬 And so much more!

Along with Daphne, we hope that by the end of this issue you’ll look at the world around you with a fresh perspective: as one that people of all abilities can (and should be able to!) live and thrive in. Because that’s what we all want, really — to be seen for all we are and have access to all the resources we need to move about the world. (And do some good along the way!)
